Hi Jojo, the breadcrumbs are part of the dressing recipe, they are a common ingredient in dressing/stuffing recipes. They hold in the moisture and help bind everything together. I’m not sure if I understood your question correctly, let me know if I can be of further help. 🙂

Hi and Hello, Beth ~ My Very Deep South Mother made dressing each holiday season – so many times, too! Yes, Southerners are fixated with buttermilk – fat – and the FACT that cornbread dressing is null and void with sugar added !!! It’s a Sin to Add Sugar to Dressing !

I’ve seen, but never used white cornmeal. I am willing to give it a try with your luscious vegan dressing.

Thank you for inventing, and sharing your recipe with all of us.
