Finding My Means | Week 1 of 43

Finding My Means, Week 1 | Weight Loss | https://passtheplants.com/

Hey hey hey, friends! It’s time for the Week 1 update of Finding My Means! If you have no idea what I’m talking about, don’t worry, I never told you what Finding My Means is until today. If you saw last week’s post, Telling the Truth, you’ll know that I’m on a 43-week journey to lose 90 pounds and fit into my red “goal pants.” If you didn’t know that, now you do. 🙂 I’m aiming to lose 2 pounds per week to meet my goal, and am documenting my food and exercise every day on my Instagram Story. For those of you aren’t on Instagram, I saved all the stories and edited them into one video. It’s kind of long, 7-ish minutes, so I won’t blame you a bit if you don’t watch it, but I wanted to share it anyway. There are some weird issues with the images showing up differently than the video clips, so I need to figure that out. Excuse the wonkiness of Week 1. 🙂

High/Low

High

After what seemed like endless days of rain, the SUN came out more than once this week and made me so excited for Spring. I have a vase full of bright yellow daffodils on the desk right next to me, and Vida and I have been scoping out what seeds we want to order from the seed catalog (if there are any left). Cannot WAIT to get out there and garden!

Low

My foot is hurting a lot and it has made most activity (even just simply walking) pretty dang difficult. I’m frustrated but trying not to let it get me down. There’s still lots I can do, just have to get creative. Making an appointment with a podiatrist this week just to make sure it really is plantar fasciitis and not anything else, so I get it treated properly. Even though I am NOT a fan of bathing suits, swimming is looking like the best way for me to burn calories until my foot is better. One step (lap?) at a time!

The Results!

I decided to weigh in on Instagram Stories, so I did that this morning and here’s how it went! I hadn’t gotten on the scale since last Monday, so sharing “live” means you’re joining in the on the surprise with me.  A little bit more apprehensive about sharing the results on a week where I don’t meet the goal (if that ever happens), but this week I was happy to see that number!

Results Breakdown

Starting Weight: 230.8 lbs.
Goal Weight: 140 lbs.
Previous Weight: 230.8 lbs.
Current Weight: 228.0 lbs.
Weight Change this week: -2.8 lbs.
Total pounds lost: -2.8 lbs.

For a week where I wasn’t able to move as much as I wanted, and carbed it up way more than I intended (rice and bread were major players this week), I am so happy with this start! Thank you so much for sharing this ride with me.

Here’s to Week 2!
